Ralf Röder

“It is my ambition since my childhood to contribute to nature conservation. I enjoy the diversity of tasks and challenges that come with the practical work involved in cheetah research. This requires my inventiveness and improvisation skills. It is highly motivating to continuously learn and gain new insights in how cheetahs adapt to a changing ecosystem.”

Ralf Röder works as a technical assistant within the Cheetah Research Project since 2016. He is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of technical equipment, trouble shoots logistical hurdles and supports the team in achieving project milestones.

Professional experience

Since 2016 field work in Namibia within the Cheetah Research Project, implementing technical skills to improve trapping mechanisms and overall efficiency of field work. Conducting the capture of free-ranging cheetahs, GPS-collaring, camera trap studies and maintaining the stakeholder dialogue. Management of the field research station and head of the workshop. Between 1998 and 2016, practice of the carpentry in various job specializations, including workshop supervisor and abroad employments.
